How to complete your MouthX self-validation with the Fit Validation Kit
Use the Fit Validation Kit to check the physical fit, comfort, and stability of the MouthX prototypes before moving forward with your final device.
Before manufacturing your final MouthX, you may receive a Fit Validation Kit with 3 MouthX prototypes. You will receive an email with a link to access the self-validation page, but you can also access it by scanning the QR code included in the box.
These prototypes are used to complete a self-validation process and help the Aurax team understand which fit works best for you before moving forward with your final device.

Moreover, they do not contain electronics. They are not used to test digital control, Bluetooth connection, clicks, commands, or electronic response.
Their purpose is to validate the physical fit. You will not be able to use them to control a phone, tablet, or computer.
This does not make the process less important. On the contrary, validating the fit correctly is an essential step before manufacturing your final MouthX.
What is the Fit Validation Kit for?
The Fit Validation Kit helps you compare 3 different MouthX prototypes and check which one feels better in terms of fit, comfort, and stability. When trying each prototype, pay attention to:
- How it fits in your mouth.
- Whether it feels comfortable.
- Whether it stays stable in place.
- Whether it creates pressure or discomfort.
- Whether it feels natural enough to keep in position.
What about the J2/jaw joystick? What if one of them doesn't have one?
For J2, the Fit Validation Kit is used to validate the fit, not the final functional position, which means that you may receive a prototype without the jaw joystick. You do not need to evaluate whether J2 is in its final exact control position.
At this stage, what matters is whether the prototype fits properly, feels stable, and does not create relevant discomfort. The final MouthX will be manufactured later based on the validation results and the Aurax team’s technical review.
Before starting
To ensure that your final device fits you perfectly, it is important that you follow the testing process correctly. You should try each of the 3 prototypes for 10 to 20 minutes per day, during 3 days. Before trying the prototypes, make sure that:
- Your hands are clean.
- The prototypes are cleaned before the use.
- You are in a calm place where you can focus.
- You have enough time to try each prototype without rushing. You will need to try them for 10 minutes each.
- You follow the instructions provided by the Aurax team.
Do not force any prototype into place. If one of them causes pain or strong discomfort, stop using it and let the Aurax team know.
How to test each prototype
Try the prototypes one by one. For each prototype:
- Place the prototype in your mouth carefully.
- Check if it fits naturally.
- Keep it in place for a few moments.
- Move your tongue and jaw gently.
- Check if it feels stable.
- Check if any area creates pressure or discomfort.
- Remove the prototype and repeat the process with the next one.
What should I evaluate?
When comparing the 3 prototypes, focus on the following points:
Comfort
The prototype should feel comfortable enough to keep in place without pain or excessive pressure. It is normal to feel that there is an object in your mouth, especially at the beginning, but it should not cause strong discomfort.
Stability
The prototype should remain stable while it is in place. If it moves too much, feels loose, or does not stay properly positioned, make a note of it.
Fit
Check whether the prototype fits naturally in your mouth. It should not feel forced, unstable, or difficult to keep in position.
Pressure points
Pay attention to any area that feels too tight, creates pressure, or becomes uncomfortable after a short time. If this happens, note where the discomfort appears and with which prototype.
What information should I send to Aurax?
After completing the self-validation, you will find a survey at the end of the page. Please complete this survey with your feedback. This survey may include:
- Which prototype felt best.
- Which prototype felt least comfortable.
- Whether any prototype moved or felt unstable.
- Whether you felt pressure or discomfort.
- Where you felt discomfort, if any.
- Any photos or videos requested by the Aurax team.
- Any additional comments about your experience.
Try to be as specific as possible. Your feedback helps the team validate the fit before moving forward with your final MouthX.
Important
Do not continue using a prototype if it causes pain, strong pressure, or significant discomfort.
The self-validation process is not a test you need to pass. It is a way to help us understand which fit works best for you before manufacturing your final MouthX.
